Rizzo to be GM without actually being GM

While the GM role will remain "vacant," Mike Rizzo will take over
"principle responsibilities when it comes to the Major League, Minor League and scouting operations," according to Bill Ladson's MLBlog. Also, "all team matters or inquiries will be directed to Rizzo with Kasten working closely with him."

So basically, Mike Rizzo will be the interim GM without the title, and will have Stan Kasten "guiding" him along the way. Sounds good to me-this way, they'll be able to see whether or not he can handle full-time GM duties.

Also, I'm about 3/4 of the way done with a post on the Nats' offseason additions. ALL of them. My definition of "addition" is loose-it's for players who were signed, traded for, re-signed, had options exercised or were added in the Rule 5 draft. There are a few "surprises" thrown in there as you'll see. I'll hopefully get it finished and posted sometime this afternoon.
